Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Quantum is seeking a Software Engineer/Developer to work with quantum system experts to build tools for automation in the exciting world of quantum computing. Projects may include developing and improving systems for calibrating, monitoring, reporting and visualizing performance of cutting-edge quantum processors in active use by researchers and developers within IBM and around the world. The ideal candidate will have a good grasp of quantum computing principles and strong software skills. The candidate must also be able to work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers and sometimes, clients.

This position can be located in Yorktown Heights, NY .

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Have some background in Quantum Information Science or related fields.

Experience working with and/or leading software engineering teams.

Expertise and hands-on experience in programming in Python.

Knowledge of other languages is a plus - C, C++, Rust, Java, JavaScript

Maintenance of Github repositories.

Expertise in applying software development best practices and standards for building rock-solid solutions. Expertise in profiling and performance analysis.

Advanced skill level in solving analytical problems using rigorous and quantitative approaches

Experience working with multiple stakeholders in the organization and facilitating decision-making

Experience and ability to deliver in a time-constrained environment
