Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM is seeking an experienced Low Temperature Test and measurement engineer for CMOS and SFQ technology and circuit evaluation to join the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.
You will work as part of a team of theoretical and experimental physicists, computer scientists, and engineers on the quantum computing effort at IBM. Must have knowledge of superconducting electronics, primarily as it relates to quantum computing. You should have a record of research involving testing and analysis of cryogenic electronics. Should be capable of coding software for automation of test. Familiarity with analysis of yield and performance metrics for quantum systems is greatly preferred.
The engineer should have at least 5+ years of experience evaluating the most advanced CMOS and or SFQ technologies. The evaluations may include device (FET, JJ) characterization for the purpose of model development, measurement of device reliability, measurement of high frequency device performance (s-parameters) measurement of integrated digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuit function and performance, and measurement of passive components such as capacitors, resistors, and inductors.
The engineer should be experienced at testing with probe cards and automated probe stations, as well as testing packaged device and circuits. The engineer should be able design test structures and test circuits and specify circuit boards and packaging for testing. The engineer should be experienced at lab automation and data analysis. The engineer should be able to adapt measurement techniques and packages for use in cryogenic environments.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Must have excellent people skills, sound judgment, flexibility, and work well in a high stress environment
• Mastery of variety of test equipment, such as vector network analyzers, oscilloscopes, data generators, power meters and frequency synthesizers.
• Mastery of a data acquisition and analysis software language.
• Ability to choose appropriate sets of instruments to evaluate non-conventional circuits.
• Good understanding of device behavior and circuit performance.
• Deep understanding of measurement errors, equipment measurement limits, and electrical
• Fluent in English language
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Strong background in semiconductor device design, modeling.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office products such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
