IBM Quantum NA Academic Hubs Manager in Yorktown Heights, New York

Your Role and Responsibilities

Join an elite team driving research and development of the industry's most advanced quantum computing hardware and software, helping our clients as they research quantum computing solutions for their most pressing business challenges. We identify problems that show promise for a quantum advantage, engage in joint research with clients to develop proof-of-concept implementations of quantum solutions, and develop software that will implement those solutions.

In the role of North America Academic Hubs Manager, you will be an essential part of the IBM Quantum Partner Ecosystem team. You will be responsible for the success of our Academic Quantum Hubs in North America. You will be given significant autonomy and flexibility in the performance of your role and are expected to make meaningful contributions to our business and partners' success.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy for our Academic Hubs in North America

  • Act as a primary point of contact throughout the partner life cycle, driving successful partnerships and project management with clear deliverables for partners in our academic ecosystem

  • Manage partner relationships and our technical leads across engagements

  • Network within accounts to build relationships to achieve partner success and partner milestones

  • Be the voice of the partner internally at IBM Quantum to improve products, offerings, and overall partner ecosystem

  • Build roadmaps to execute project delivery and strategic initiatives

  • Coordinate research, training, support, and enablement and create assets for scalable future engagements

Successful attributes

  • Creative in framing and solving complex problems

  • Experienced with complex stakeholder management in sometimes deeply technical environments. You will need to work with, for example, senior executives at our Hubs and within IBM, academic researchers, the product organization, marketing, and salespeople

  • Self-starter. Agile in navigating a complex organization

  • Organized, with exceptional project management skills

  • Quick learner with an independent growth mindset. Able to absorb new technical concepts quickly and thoroughly

  • Skilled at fostering teamwork and input from all

  • Experience in making data driven decisions and deep analytical thinking

Preferred Work locations: New York, NY or other IBM Quantum Centers. Remote possible.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • PhD, Masters, or other advanced degrees in STEM

  • 3+ years of experience in business or technology strategy consulting or similar experience, with demonstrably successful interactions with clients

  • Strong project management skills with a commitment to be highly organized and determination to meet deadlines

  • Strong relationship building, negotiation skills, and client management experience

  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with quantum computing

  • Experience with data analytics
