IBM Backup & Restore Specialist in Wroclaw, Poland

Your Role and Responsibilities

Currently, we are looking for Backup & Restore Specialist who will join our Project Services team, which delivers RFS projects for all EMEA accounts in all markets.

Project work only! No maintenance, no daily support, no standby /on calls, no shifts!

This job ad is for IBM CIC in Katowice and Wroclaw, but work can be done remotely from any place in Poland.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering RFS projects for EMEA regions including responsibility for troubleshooting and tuning, implement changes requested by the customer or as a part of the projects.

  • Close cooperation inside project organization

  • Position requires the ability to work overtime (if needed) and might take part in Disaster Recovery tests and real Disaster Recovery events

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in Tape Library management

  • Skills in all levels of Backup & Restore support (including implementation of Backup&Restore solutions, preparation of DR plans)

  • Experience in installation and management of backup clients (BA, TDP)

  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery policies and procedures

  • At least a few years of experience in IT and general knowledge of networking and operating systems (Unix, Windows)

  • Experience in scripting (e.g. bash, perl)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Working experience with Backup&Recovery software IBM Spectrum Protect, formerly Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)

  • Experience in Actifio is considered an advantage

  • Experience in VM backups

  • Experience with IBM's solutions

  • Knowledge of Disk Storage technology basics

  • Knowledge of SAN technology basics

  • Knowledge of Databases

  • Knowledge of virtualization technology (VMware)
