IBM Senior Consultant/ Architect in the Infrastructure & Endpoint Security in Warsaw, Poland

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Security is looking for an experienced ' Senior Managing Security Consultant' to lead and drive a variety of engagements for some of our most important Clients. This is an opportunity to work at the front line of cyber security delivering value to leading organisations with the support of one of the world's leading technology and security organisations.

As a senior leader in our security business, you will work in our advisory practice helping our Clients understand their security challenges and then specify, plan and execute projects to improve their security posture. The role calls for a proven record in the cyber security industry with experience in security technology, processes or operations. Specialised knowledge of specific sectors would be of interest.

These engagements will encompass the full end to end cycle, from initial client engagement, through assessments and road-mapping, to longer term engagement in an advisory capacity. Candidates will be able to apply a consulting approach to clients concerns and issues and will use knowledge gained from previous roles, experiences and engagements, IBM's intellectual capital, knowledge of the market/industry, and own research to address clients' security challenges. Candidates will be able to apply a consulting approach towards hybrid/multi cloud security and compliance architecture and solutions. Will use knowledge gained from previous roles, experiences and engagements, IBM's intellectual capital, knowledge of the market/industry, and own research to address clients' security challenges. Understands how to engage clients in security discussions with 'security as a business enabler' as a focus.

Projects are based across the EMEA, often on client premises, so the ability and willingness to travel as and when required

Role Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team, both locally and remotely, on large and long-term engagements, delegating tasks and managing team personal and professional requirements.

  • Run all aspects of a large program including resource management, financial planning and project planning.

  • Build, manage and drive client relationships, becoming a long-term trusted advisor for all security matters.

  • Lead contract negotiations, program financial management and always drive best solution for both client and IBM.

  • Proven ability to design and implement secure cloud architectures that meet client business requirements, whilst delivering value, and incorporate appropriate and sustainable security controls based on cloud native security services as well as traditional approaches.

  • Detailed knowledge of the cloud native delivery, security and deployment models for IaaS, PaaS, CaaS offerings provided by at least one of IBM Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud platforms.

  • Working knowledge of key cloud security standards eg NIST, CIS, NCSC, ISO.

  • Experience with application and infrastructure security as code and technical knowledge in three or more domains in cloud services context - risk and compliance detection and management, edge and internal network and landing zone security, data security solutions (including native encryption and native/multi cloud key management, activity monitoring), application security solutions (including DevSecOps in context of CI/CD pipeline, workload protection across containers and virtual hosts, CASB, WAF), threat and vulnerability prevention, detection and remediation lifecycle management, identity and access management and governance.

  • Has experience in solutioning and delivery of cloud solutions with three or more security technologies including but not limited Network Security, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection / Prevention, Anti Malware, Email Security, Web Content Filtering, DDoS Protection, Industrial Control Security, Endpoint Detection & Response, Patch Management, and Deceptive Technologies,

  • Lead professionally as a senior team member within IBM security, setting an example and providing support to more junior team members.

  • Drive innovation and improvement to our existing contracts and offerings to ensure that we are continuously improving.

  • Understanding of wider context of client / contract within both IBM security and the wider business. Will work with other business lines to provide cross-functional solutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in consultancy engagements focused around the security industry, such as risk assessments, compliance audits and strategy advisory.

  • Demonstrable expertise in client industry (E.g. public sector, financial services, energy and utilities) with focus on industry specific best practice, threats and regulations.

  • One or more cyber/information security qualification (CISSP, CISM, CCSP or Equivalent);

  • Strong understanding and experience applying of one or more security industry frameworks (E.g. ISO27001, NIST);

  • Understanding and experience working with security legislation and regulatory frameworks (E.g. DPA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, NIS);

  • Proven track record of successfully leading large client engagements; and

  • Very strong written, oral and presentation skills.
