IBM Research Software Engineer in Brazil

Job Description

This is a software engineering role in a vibrant and highly experimental R&D environment. Involves significant work on designing, developing, testing, deploying and supporting (complex) software systems which are used in the context of the innovation and research. Also participates in the generation of highly novel ideas (theoretical or experimental) and/or invents/designs complex products and/or processes within a scientific research environment. May be involved in engineering these ideas to an advanced state of feasibility by evaluating ideas and plans and participating in their implementation. The full cycle of innovation to delivery is typically a multiple-year effort. Helps to disseminate, internally and externally, the results of such activities through publications, patent disclosures, seminar participation, internal documentation, etc. May also function as an internal consultant in the areas of professional expertise. May direct technically, and/or manage, within the broad mission of the group, activities of interns, other research staff members and technical support persons. A Master degree (strictu sensu) is required. Experience and knowledge in software engineering and development is essential. Knowledge and experience with Agile methods and DevOps is a plus. Fluency in English is essential as well as some availability to travel.
