IBM Research Brazil is looking for PhD-level researchers with strong background and scientific interest in Cognitive Computing and related areas. We are looking for junior or senior candidates with a PhD degree with a clear commitment and record of research in machine learning, computational vision, conversational systems, speech and natural language processing, knowledge representation, formal and probabilistic reasoning, interactive agent architectures, robotics and smart rooms, data analytics and mining, and interactive technologies and methodologies.
This is a position which requires a PhD or equivalent, in a role which includes the production of scientific knowledge and the invention and design of complex products and services. It may also involve the engineering of those ideas to an advanced state of feasibility by evaluating ideas and plans and participating in their implementation. The work involves the dissemination, internally and externally, of the results of such activities through publications, patent disclosures, seminar participation, internal documentation, etc; representing IBM at professional meetings, in professional societies and universities and interacting with IBM and its clients in innovation projects.
Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent, or planning to finish a PhD degree before the end of 2017.
