Your Role and Responsibilities

*This is an IBM Japan position.

We are looking for a Technical Sales Position for Red Hat products, one of IBM's fastest growing and focused products. The position is Red Hat Digital Technical Sales and will be responsible for the following specific duties

The position is responsible for providing technical support for Red Hat projects in your territory. The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for facilitating sales activities by answering technical questions from customers, providing technical explanations of solutions, and providing sound advice on comparing multiple options.

This is a technical sales position specializing in Red Hat products, so the successful candidate will have strong technical skills in Red Hat and other cloud-related technologies.

Job Description.

  • Technical sales support in finding deals for Red Hat.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Skill.

-2+ years of experience in the technology industry

2+ years of experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or consulting

-Ability to interpret and articulate customer business and technical needs

-Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures

-Advanced knowledge of UNIX or Linux systems, preferably Red Hat platform products such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

-Broad understanding of the application lifecycle from development to production and respective practices (DevOps)

-Excellent communication and listening skills with a focus on client satisfaction

-Results oriented and collaborative team player attitude

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Preferred Skills, Desired Qualifications

Experience in a technical pre-sales or support role focused on DevOps, cloud computing, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) or Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) technologies

-Knowledge of key DevOps technologies including Linux containers, container management, security, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) tools

-Experience with configuration management technologies such as Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Puppet, Chef, or other related technologies

-English communication skills

-Able to take ownership and sell to customers, rather than just doing the technical stuff yourself.

Proactive in acquiring knowledge of IT technologies and trends in the fast-changing IT industry.

-Able to build trusting relationships with company officials, IBM members, RH members, business partners, etc.
