IBM Site Reliability Engineering Professional (z/OS zVM - Storage admin) in São Paulo, Brazil

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Completes backup and recovery, data migration, storage allocation, connectivity, and storage reporting requests.

  • Creates, removes, and expands file systems and volumes.

  • Provides SAN switch director monitoring, configuration, and support.

  • Works with senior peers to develop change management procedures.

  • Creates and maintains documentation.

  • Creates investment proposals and presents concepts during team meetings.

  • Provides assistance with system solution design.

  • May require rotating 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Basic knowledge of operating systems and systems administration concepts

  • Deep Experience with IBM z/OS, IBM z/VM, IBM DS8000 DASD (CKD & FCP formatting), FICON and VTS (virtual tape) is required

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies as well as a personal commitment to stay current with latest technology concepts

  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Identifies and resolves less clearly defined problems using established procedures and/or protocols as guidelines

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Deep Experience with IBM z/OS, IBM z/VM, IBM DS8000 DASD (CKD & FCP formatting), FICON and VTS (virtual tape) is required

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies as well as a personal commitment to stay current with latest technology concepts
