Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Security solutions is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to focus on the Asia Pacific team. As an IBM Security Technical Sales Specialist, you assume technical leadership and responsibility for designing and selling security solutions that allow our clients to detect and respond to modern threats using tools such as log managers, SIEMs, asset tracking, vulnerability management, network monitoring, threat data/threat modeling systems and cognitive systems.

This is a customer facing role and the candidate must be comfortable and confident working with IT and Line of Business Executives and be able to work effectively in a collaborative role with IBM sales teams and business partners..


  • Support sales team on prospect conference calls, WebEx and onsite visits by providing product demonstrations expertly responding to technical questions, and explaining features in the context of solving customer’s business problems.

  • Lead technical response to RFPs and RFIs by writing clear responses

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to effectively present technical material to small and large groups.

  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • Excellent written, oral communication and strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree computer science, or equivalent

  • Total work experience required: 10+ years

  • 4 years of technical hands-on experience with application security/endpoint and/or mobile security.

  • 5 years of web applications, web protocols, security and Internet environments.

  • 5 years of web threats and cybercrime.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 8 years of technical hands-on experience with application security/endpoint and/or Mobile security.

  • 8 years of technical hands-on experience with application security/endpoint and/or Mobile security.
