Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Security solutions is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to focus on the Asia Pacific team. As an IBM Security Technical Sales Specialist, you assume technical leadership and responsibility for designing and selling security solutions that allow our clients to detect and respond to modern threats using tools such as log managers, SIEMs, asset tracking, vulnerability management, network monitoring, threat data/threat modeling systems and cognitive systems.

This is a customer facing role and the candidate must be comfortable and confident working with IT and Line of Business Executives and be able to work effectively in a collaborative role with IBM sales teams and business partners..

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a demonstrated knowledge of the specialty sales processes, techniques, and tools, and advises others on their use.

  • Analyze IT security requirements of enterprise clients, select IBM solutions, demonstrations, client workshops and presentations, quotes and pricing, and other proposal development activities.

  • Maintain knowledge of competition's offerings, strategies, and plans.

  • Differentiate the IBM Identity Access Management Solutions from competitive alternatives and creates customer preference for IBM Security Software offerings, based on that differentiation.

  • Negotiate with multiple levels of customer management, resulting in closing of the sale.

  • Anticipate complex problems relating to specialty offerings, customer sales engagements, and business unit sales results.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of hands-on IAM Solutions, preferably in large scale production environments.

  • Ability to present and demonstrate product to customers from analyst to executive levels

  • Ability to perform IAM Proofs of Concept

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2+ Years as a pre-sales technical specialist

  • Ability to implement simulated data scripting for customized IAM demos.

  • Highly skilled in at least one Linux scripting language, preferably multiple (e.g., Bash, Python).

  • 3+ years of customer-facing cybersecurity pre-sales experience.

  • 3+ years of hands-on IAM experience, preferably in large scale production environments.

  • Professional services / consulting / user experience with IBM IAM or other IAM Solutions.

  • Experience selling through partner/reseller channels.
