Your Role and Responsibilities
The Workday Risk and Compliance Manager will be responsible for the ongoing design and implementation of our strategy to drive internal control discipline and operational excellence within Workday. Ensure capabilities are in place to drive the day to day execution of IBM’s Internal Controls, IT Security Standards, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the countries we operate. Effectively monitor and report on Operational Risks while providing leadership and oversight in establishing effective controls within processes, perform proactive reviews, and test the effectiveness of controls. Engage with stakeholders to identify issues and/or control improvements for remediation. Support internal and external auditors to have assurance over the controls we have in place to manage risk. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture within IBM as a whole and within the Workday ecosystem specifically. Collaborate with our CIO, GBS, and GTS partners to ensure the systems and tools supporting Workday manage risk appropriately. Partner with our security teams to develop automated solutions to identify and report on risk areas pro-actively. Develop and direct staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensures operational excellence and sound controls foundation within Workday via education of, and adherence to, all policies, procedures and metrics
Supports risk management objectives, while executing on strategic business plans
Controls and Compliance oversight and issue remediation - to include managing reviews & assessments, ensuring compliance with corporate instructions, managing plans to address identified issues, control enhancements & audit concerns
Quality assurance and testing - to include designing & refining control plans, testing & monitoring activities
Partners with audit, legal, and compliance partners
Brings together multiple stakeholders, to arrive at root cause of issues and reach consensus & decisions
Leads across multiple teams to orchestrate cohesive risk & controls oversight and process management
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 5 years of risk management, controls, or compliance experience
At least 3 years of Workday Security experience
Strong executive communication skills and ability to lead with influence across multiple teams
Transformational leader, able to identify and implement improvement opportunities while building team engagement
Ability to coach and develop people
Engage with stakeholders to identify issues and/or control improvements for remediation
Experience managing global teams
Proactively builds trusted relationships with key partners/clients
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience performing a similar role in a large organization
