Your Role and Responsibilities

Application programming interfaces (API) are the digital glue that links services, applications, sensors and mobile devices to create compelling customer experiences and help businesses tap into new market opportunities. They allow customer to bring new digital services to market, open revenue channels and exceed customer expectations. The IBM API Connect is an API management solution that addresses critical aspects of the API lifecycle for both on-premises and cloud environments providing the capability to create, run, manage and secure APIs and microservices.
Our DevOps team is part of the development group that develops automation, tooling, and monitoring; operates and maintains multi tenant and single tenant cloud form factors of the API Connect product; and provides customer support. We minimize disruptions to our customers business through the running and managing of our hosted offerings and work pro-actively to improve the resilience, availability and visibility into the platform
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Familiarity with cloud based providers: IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, google compute, etc and their hosting tools and APIs
Knowledge around Automation technologies to automate deploy, test and verification of cloud deployments (terraform, ArgoCD, Jenkins and Github)
Familiarity with various Cloud and DB technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, CouchDB, Cassandra, and Postgres
Cloud application management using Realify, Python or Ansible
Ability to learn quickly, adapt quickly, and be self directive in a world wide team environment
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Scripting and deployment topology knowledge: python, shell, ansible, chef, puppet, etc
Monitoring workloads through clouds (New Relic, Sysdig, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana)
Cloud concepts around Auto-scale and auto-recover cloud components
General IT security standards, principles, and compliances (ISO27k, SOC2, GDPR, PCI, etc)
