IBM Application Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of their business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change. We are looking for experts who can build credibility and trust with our clients and provide knowledge that addresses individual and unique business needs.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As the IBM Modernization advocate, you will be responsible for delivering excellence and to be the trusted advisor for the client through their modernization journey. You will demonstrate deep experience and knowledge to support both the sales of new business opportunities and the delivery of services to your Clients. You will also include providing timely project updates to the IBM team, client executive team, management of changes, develop and shape new sales opportunities, and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Establish strong, trusted relationships with your Client, from the sales pursuit phase through completion of delivery by reinforcing your credibility/experience in delivering similar Modernization Cloud solutions
Be able to articulate Cloud solutions, and other areas of IBM used in the delivery of complex services
Communicate with C Level regarding Cloud solutions, and other areas of IBM used in the delivery of complex services
Develop / communicate deep Points of View regarding the business drivers for Modernization in the Marketplace
Demonstrate exceptional leadership, strong team building, and strong conflict resolution skills to present a “One IBM” view to your client.
Drive seamless end to end integration of all aspects of the service delivery you are leading.
Work within the integrated delivery model by managing difficult relationships with executive sponsorship, executive delivery, architectural/technical leadership and program management
Manage complex delivery in a multi tower model, dependent on several IBM business units, Global resources, multiple 3rd party vendors, IBM Business partners, which often includes very complex relationships at all levels
Ensure complete understanding and achievement of account / Modernization portfolio contractual obligations while always meeting committed profitability targets. You are accountable for the financial success of engagements which you manage.
Analyzing performance KPI's, quickly identifying areas of concern and being proactive in assisting the delivery teams in developing corrective actions to keep the account on track, applying best practices which will lead to achieving desired business goals
Demonstrating ownership of all delivery issues impacting your client /IBM and driving an effective/efficient management system with all components across the entire delivery framework
Understanding the underlying technologies in enough detail which allows you to quickly validate and act on facts in order to avoid costly delays
Making timely, critical program level decisions, based on your Insight and experience
Based on your proven track record and previous client experiences, prevent ill-advised decisions from being implemented which could ultimately cause delivery issues
Supporting revenue growth on the account by helping your client make informed decisions regarding where Modernization investments should be made today
Looking for opportunities to build an E2E process by integrating IBM's Modernization process with the client’s internal processes
Identifying new business opportunities, creatively participating in the development and sales of solutions, and assist IBM in winning the business
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
5+ years of experience in Delivery Leadership and IT Cloud Modernization
Experience delivering highly complex Modernization for Cloud solutions across a complex, global environment
Certification in multiple Cloud Platforms (Red Hat, AWS, Google, Azure, IBM Cloud)
Proven technical depth understanding in Cloud Modernization solutions
Experience Leading Delivery Engagements using industry leading Modernization/Migration tools (Jira, CAST,
Transformation Advisor, RHAMT, VMware HCX, Azure/AWS/Google Migration Tools)
Experience working with Package Software, Custom Code and DBMS
Strong negotiation and Program Management skills
Must have thorough understanding of large and complex services engagements in area of Modernization for Cloud including the appropriate methods, tools, and skills needed to solve business problems in the Client's industry
Located in either the Dallas, Chicago, NY/NJ/CT, Atlanta or SF Bay area
