IBM ZaaS Hyper Protect Developer in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Your Role and Responsibilities

The Hyper Protect team is looking for a Software Developer for our Hosting Appliance team. As a Software Developer, you will be working on the Linux-based Appliance which is the core for all Hyper Protect services. Hyper Protect is a family of public, hybrid, private cloud services that enables the highest levels of security and confidential computing for workloads in the digital asset, financial, and healthcare industries. Our team uses Agile software development practices in an open, diverse, and supportive culture. The team has members in Raleigh, North Carolina, and BĂ–eblingen, Germany.

Job Duties:

As a Software Developer for the ZaaS Hyper Protect Hosting Appliance team, you will

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code

  • Optimize and improve existing code

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation

  • Debug and troubleshoot issues

  • Work in an Agile environment

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages, preferably Python, preferably 3+ years

  • Experience or knowledge in RESTful APIs

  • Experience with Unix/Linux systems, preferably 3+ years

  • Good Problem-Solving Skills

  • Proven communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global team environment

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience working with Git

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices

  • Understanding of Docker configuration files and deployment

  • General understanding of networking concepts including Docker networking

  • Experience working with Cloud technologies and environments

  • Experience working with IBM Z Mainframe

  • Work in collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies

  • Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work

  • Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management

  • Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Ready to pick up additional skills based on business requirements
