IBM Test Automation Architect in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Your Role and Responsibilities

This position will support both a hybrid remote/lonsite work model at our IBM RTP/Raleigh, NC campus. Expectation for this role will be to support that work arrangement.

The IBM CIO organization plays a major role in delivering new technologies to our end users. Among other things our applications support our Pricing process and are built by self-directed, end-to-end development squads spread around the world. We believe that with the right people on board, anything is possible.

The Chief Information Office within IBM is currently looking for a Lead Automation Test Architect with experience working in a global agile delivery environment. This technical position will be part of a co-located squad in Research Triangle Park and accountable for using and implementing state-of-the-art test tools and practices to support and enhance the 24/6 business critical pricing application, ePricer.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, create and maintain Automated Test Frameworks for front and back end systems/applications.

  • Perform web, API, UI, functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, load, performance and end to end testing within an Agile delivery model.

  • Lead and implement end to end Test Automation and define tool roadmaps, including performance testing.

  • Participate in software development lifecycle, specifically test design, execution and debugging required to achieve successful implementation of integrated solutions within the portfolio.

  • Collaboratively elaborate requirements to enable Acceptance Test Driven Development with Tech Leads, Developers and Business Analysts.

  • Improve existing Test Automation Frameworks.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3+ years' experience in Test Automation including planning, assessments, script development and maintenance.

  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in various Test Automation Tools (Selenium, Protractor, SOATest, etc).

  • Strong programming/scripting experience and a passion for test.

  • Demonstrated communication skills in a customer/stakeholder facing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience working within an Agile and DevOps delivery team.

  • Demonstrated experience in Windows, Linux & MacOS - Understanding of the command line interface and in-depth knowledge of the underlying system, system logging.

  • Must be self-directed, resilient and creative.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in Pricing, Procurement and/or Fulfillment.
