Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM sellers increasingly engage with clients digitally and socially. We're looking for Sales Advisors with digital and social selling experience to coach and mentor new IBM sellers through Global Sales School.
Global Sales School (GSS) is an enterprise-wide learning program for IBM sellers. Newly hired graduates and experienced hires from across the company begin GSS during their first 30 days with IBM . As a Sales Advisor, you'll work with new sellers both 1on1 and in small groups. As a Sales Advisor you'll lead groups through sales roleplays and provide sellers with an opportunity to learn about selling by solving authentic sales challenges.
Typical activities in this role would include:
Play the role of an IBM client or IBM sales manager in sales exercises
Evaluate seller's effectiveness during sales exercises
Provide coaching and feedback to individuals and groups.
Interact with new sellers both in virtual and face to face classrooms.
Facilitate working sessions with sellers, demonstrating knowledge of IBM's client conversation framework, sales tools, financial selling skills and negotiating skills.
Coach & mentor. Provide each seller an opportunity to practice, receive feedback, and improve their performance
Ensure that new sellers are prepared to engage with clients in any format (face to face, phone, digitally)
Use questioning techniques to reveal areas of strength and areas that would benefit from improvement.
Encourage and foster a classroom environment where new sellers support and develop on another.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
10 years experience working in a client-facing sales or sales leadership role in a global corporate environment.
Experience selling in the current IT environment of cognitive computing, cloud technologies, analytics, social, mobile, etc.
A history of successfully selling to the C-Suite line of business
Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills
Experience achieving sales targets through the use of digital technologies.
Proficiency in personalising digital interactions and leveraging social platforms
Demonstrated capability to leverage financial selling and negotiating techniques.
Previous people management or a background in sales leadership would be an asset.
Ideal candidates will be fluent in English / Portuguese or English / Spanish
Ability to support both Americas and Western European class and time zones an asset.
Recent IBM retirees with a work history of high performance are welcome to apply for this position.
