IBM Lead Full-Stack Developer - Raleigh, North Carolina in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Your Role and Responsibilities

This role is located in the IBM office in Research Triangle Park.There will be limited remote work option post covid. We are co-located in the office, but maintain a responsible consideration of health and safety practices - which includes ongoing support for an in-office/remote office balance during these unusual times.

There are no relocation funds for this role so you would need to relocate at your own expense.

Join us in building dynamic applications using the latest technology including React, Redux, Angular, and Node. Deploy those applications on platforms powered by Red Hat and OpenShift. We do this at scale, across multiple data centers, supporting a worldwide user community.

You will work with a team of passionate software developers who create and support business-critical applications used by IBMers and IBM partners. Job Duties:

  • Lead the review and estimation of requirements while working with your team to plan agile sprints related to application and process development roadmaps

  • Lead code reviews and provide feedback to your peers, your manager, and the team product owner

  • Lead architecture and technical roadmap planning sessions

  • Propose implementation and architecture patterns and best practices to management and product teams

  • Develop web applications using React, Node.js, NoSQL (Cloudant)

  • Commit and organize source code in GitHub enterprise

  • Develop back-end processes and APIs required by front-end applications

  • Define necessary data models and schemas for the applications you support

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Previous experience developing in modern web frameworks including React, Angular, & Node

  • Experience with cloud-hosting solutions and CI/CD pipeline tools

  • Excellent object-oriented programming skills

  • Experience designing and building restful APIs and Web services

  • Experience designing and working with relational databases

  • Experience designing and working with NoSQL databases

  • Experience with Automated Testing programs including Test Driven and Behavior Driven Development

  • Comfortable multi-tasking and working as part of a global team, as well as working independently and taking ownership

  • Adaptive to ambiguity and willing to change in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience guiding/mentoring a team of software engineers

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Demonstrated ability to operate within short release cycles

  • Experience using modern collaboration tools in a highly-responsive environment

  • Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes

  • Experience with RedHat products including OpenShift and Ansible
