IBM DevOps Engineer in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • The DevOps engineer will work closely with senior architects, development and cross-functional-area specialists

  • Deploy Security Solutions in Cloud

  • Experienced in People Management

  • Owning the business commitments for end to end software development and operationalizing activities

  • Working with architects and development manager to define strategic direction

  • Coordinating with architects and interfacing with other teams on requirements for development and operations activities

  • Ensuring that development requirements for operations are delivered and tracked

  • Support operational design, implementation, and validation of a highly secure, resilient, and performance for cloud software solutions

  • Effectively model threats and assess risks

  • Partner across business and technology disciplines to present and deliver the needed security solutions

  • Provide expertise for cloud-based SecDevOps.

  • Influence product roadmaps, strategies, run proof of concepts, and identify gaps and solutions

  • Keep current with industry cloud technology trends

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 4+ years of development experience in a large Cloud based environment.

  • 2+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure security engineering, SecDevOps.

  • Deep understanding of IT Security Controls, secure architecture and design fundamentals.

  • Experience developing, implementing, or operating large-scale IaaS, ultra-highly available and highly secure cloud environments/services.

  • Experience developing and implementing core security controls such as inventory management, logging & intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, identity and access management for cloud services and infrastructure assets.

  • Experience building new systems and upgrading and patching existing ones.

  • Security monitoring and reporting tools

  • Software Engineering and Automation (GIT, Jenkins, Travis, Jira), Networking (Protocols, Load balancing, troubleshooting), deployment & configuration management (Chef, SaltStack, Ansible), Linux, Containers, Kubernetes.

  • Programming experience in at least one of these languages: Python, GO, Java, JavaScript

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 4+ years in Software Engineering, DevOps in a large Cloud based environment.

  • Experience with security tools (Tenable Nessus, HashiCorp Vault, IBM QRadar)

  • Experience with Compliance Frameworks e.g. NIST 800-53, SOC2, CIS

  • Working knowledge of applied cryptography and public key infrastructure

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills and ability to lead development of complex solutions

  • Solid understanding of the challenges for development and operations of large scale cloud infrastructure
