Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role you will craft and alter DB2 objects (e.g., databases, tables, table spaces, indexes, etc.) based on requirements. Use key DB2 utilities for administration and common maintenance tasks: reorgs and runstats, backup and recovery of table spaces (copy & recover), repair, load/unload. Identifying performance issues at both a database and individual SQL level. Troubleshooting and analyzing the DB2 system log to identify issues. Assisting application teams with rewriting SQL code to improve performance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 5+ yrs exp with database administration in an enterprise application development setting
• 2+ yrs exp working in AIX/Linux OS .
• Craft / alter DB2 objects (databases, tables etc)
• Previous exp using key DB2 utilities for admin and common maintenance tasks: reorgs and runstats, backup and recovery.
• Previous exp managing grants and clear understanding of DB2 privileges.
• Previous exp with SQL, ability to lead SQL performance tuning efforts. Assisting with rewriting SQL code.
• Previous exp with shell scripting and scripting languages
• Knowledge of DB2 HADR and data replication (CDC/SQL replication, Q-replication, OGG)
• Previous exp with software installation and database upgrades
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Administer databases both in on-premises and Cloud hosted environments
Experience with DB2 versions 10.5.x and 11.x
Strong skills with DevOps tooling chains and ecosystems such as Jenkins, GIT/SCM, Jira, Ansible/CHEF/UCD, Selenium etc.
Experience working with Cloudant or other NoSQL databases
Be able to coordinate changes in an Agile development environment and manage conflicting demands on his/her time
Experience working with a global team to support enterprise applications in a production environment that requires rapid response, problem identification, and resolution
