IBM Account Executive - Asset Management in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for talented, high-energy individuals who share our passion for success, and want to help Industrial Market clients streamline their operations and improve their bottom line through our industry-leading Asset Management Solutions.* You must be comfortable as a visionary who can paint a differentiated vision and transform that vision into achieved business outcomes for clients and market share for IBM.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with IBM Business Partners and other IBM sales teams to generate opportunities

  • Identify, validate and qualify leads

  • Profiling and researching target accounts in assigned territory utilizing various methods and tools

  • Cold calling key individuals within target accounts in an effort to generate opportunities

  • Opening, negotiating and closing business on a consistent basis. This includes meeting customers in person when applicable.

  • Involving appropriate management in sales opportunities when required

  • Preparing and managing sales pipeline to be delivered on a weekly basis.

  • Presenting IBM Asset Management to key stakeholders within target accounts

  • Managing proof of concepts and pilot projects for IBM.

  • Collaborate with and involve IBM Business Partners and pre-sales engineers to identify, progress and close business

  • Ensure updated sales status and upcoming activities are documented in the IBM's CRM system.

  • Accurately forecast sales on a weekly basis

  • Develop a deep level of expertise in IBM Asset Management product offerings, competitive landscape, and understanding of associated technologies and how they solve customer's business issues.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 years experience selling Asset Management solutions (preferably to the following industries: Industrial Products, Manufacturing, Electronics, Automotive)

  • 3 years experience in selling cloud or hybrid cloud solutions

  • 3 years experience in selling complex solutions to large enterprises

  • Proven results and growth in current and past roles

  • Successfully sold to C-Level decision makers for large transformational projects ($500k) in the area of Asset Management

  • Financial/ Value based Sales -Ability to create quantitative and financial case via ROI and business cases

  • Strategic Thinking-Systematically solves problems and anticipates possible customer pain points

  • Hunter mentality- ready to go out and find new opportunities

  • Self Starter who works well in remote environment and takes pride of ownership in all aspects of their work

  • Collaborative-recognizes the skills needed to win deals and takes the initiative to get the right people involved

  • Sales Hygiene: Regularly update CRM system forecast accurately
