IBM Business Development Offering Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Description

IBM Systems is in search of a Business Development Offering Manager for the Z as a Service team based in either Poughkeepsie or RTP. The candidate will be responsible for owning one or more key initiatives, taking them from concept to production and working through the offering management process along the way. The candidate will collaborate with design, development, operations staff and fellow OM’s to bring these initiatives to market. The Offering Manager is responsible for owning all business aspects of these initiatives as well as insuring that all technical requirements have been met by the appropriate teams prior to product launch.

Specific to business development, the candidate will be required to work with 3rd parties to establish new partnerships for the benefit of expanding the ZaaS offering set to new platforms, geographies and net new customer opportunities. This candidate will be required to negotiate (non legal) terms and conditions of the agreement, socialize and gain acceptance of this agreement amongst both organizations, get the agreement signed and then work to drive both teams to implement the details of the agreement into steady state. The candidate shall possess:

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in IT specific roles

  • Bachelors Degree

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of work experience in Business Development

  • Master’s Degree

  • IBM Z Platform expertise

  • Subject expertise in Analytics, AI, Cognitive, Security, and/or Cloud

  • Sales and/or marketing experience

  • Experience with digital and business partner routes to market
