IBM Test Automation Expert & QA Analyst in Ottawa, Ontario

Your Role and Responsibilities

The prospect candidate to have software design, development and test automation experience using Java, Selenium, TestCafe, UFT, etc along with demonstratable experience in COTS software planning and execution. Experience in Continuous Testing, Cloud Testing, Combinatorial Test Design, Agile, Load, and Mobile Testing. The benefits achieved through these services are significant, resulting in reduced effort, faster time to market, and improved quality. With IBM Continuous Testing, test organizations are able to transform by connecting automated and manual processes across the lifecycle, utilizing highly automated workflows and cloud infrastructure to support large-scale, 'hands-free' enterprise testing. The candidate must be is a quick learner to be able to develop solid hands on skills in IBM Cúram SPM design and development and build processes.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information technology related fields

  • 5 to 8 years of IT experience in Testing of various Web - based, Object Oriented, Client Server applications and ETL for data migration and reporting applications on Windows and Linux platforms.

  • Experienced in using various Test Methodologies, Test Strategies, Developing Project Schedules, Test Plans/Test Cases, Test Procedures

  • Defines testing data requirements and testing environment needs

  • Experience testing native and React-native desktop and mobile apps

  • Experience in execution and assessment of test plans for White Box and Black Box Testing, which includes Functional, Regression, Integration, System, End to End, Load/Performance, Accessibility, Security testing

  • Experience in validating SOAP and REST based web services

  • Expertise in automation using Selenium WebDriver with Java/Python and HP UFT

  • Experienced in designing Page Object Model (POM) and TestNG based automation framework using Selenium WebDriver, TestNG & apache POI .

  • Experience in Data Driven and Keyword Driven framework to maintain test suite.

  • Defect logging, tracking and monitoring using Bugzilla, JIRA and ALM/Quality Center

  • Working closely with users during User Acceptance Testing

  • Experience in supporting the build master implement/improve build test processes, environments, and scripts

  • Experience in application design/developments in a hands-on role.

  • Experience in Java, JavaScript development

  • Knowledge in UML

  • Knowledge of relational databases (DB2 or Oracle)

  • Expertise with SDLC life cycle (agile and waterfall) and associated IT processes - Scrum and/or Design Thinking certification is desirable

  • Deep understanding of batch programs, interfaces, workflows, etc.

  • Knowledge of Application servers such as Websphere or Weblogic.

  • Good knowledge of all aspects of IT systems development

  • Experience in spotting areas for improvement to enhance the product's efficiency

  • Must be eligible to obtain Government of Canada security clearance

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Knowledge of IBM Cúram Social Program Management build and deployment models on cloud is a plus.

  • 2 to 4 years' design/development experience in Cúram SPM implementation.

  • Experience with the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment, or Eclipse based IDE products such as IBM RSA.

  • Experience in modern UI/UX design and user research practices, tools, languages

  • Experience in working with ReactJS & Redux, JSP, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery and JavaScript.

  • Strong experience in DevOps process and tools like Jenkins /UrbanCode, release engineering and versioning systems

  • Experience with UML (Class, Sequence, Domain Model) and on various design patterns

  • Knowledgeable of DevOps and CI/CD automation tools such as Git, Github, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.

  • Good interpersonal skills, preferably bilingual in English and French
