IBM Product Manager - Watson AiOps (Turbonomic) in Ottawa, Ontario

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Watson AiOps organization is looking for a Product Manager to support Cloud Pak for Watson AiOps, a modern Hybrid Cloud Platform focused on Optimization and Automation. An ideal candidate would be entrepreneurial, adaptable, analytical, persuasive, empathetic, tenacious, and a creative problem solver, who is exposed to, and is well versed in, both business and technology concepts. We are specifically looking for candidates with in-depth exposure to cloud infrastructure, PaaS solutions, public cloud technology, and cloud management.

Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS (especially the various database and application component solutions), cloud resource management concepts, and Kubernetes is preferred. Technical expertise is critical to be successful in this role.

Product Managers (PM) operate in a demanding role at the epicenter of multidisciplinary teams which include design, engineering, sales, marketing, finance and legal. In this role, you'll play a central role leading and orchestrating the definition of product requirements and go-to-market strategy to solve data challenges of enterprise and mid-market clients. This role requires collaboration and coordination across internal and external teams and will be visible at the highest levels of our organization.

You'll work with our customers, Data and AI experts, business partners, ISVs, VARs, and other IBM cross functional stakeholders to plan, price, package and launch the product, decide positioning and messaging, provide seller & partner enablement, prioritize roadmap features, and spearhead the definition and delivery of new and differentiated capabilities.

AIOps is the application of advanced data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to improve the efficiency, reliability and effectiveness of IT environments. The focus of our team spans the gamut of IBM cloud infrastructure operations across compute, networking and storage and involves active collaboration with the broader operations, SRE and development teams.

The successful candidate must have exceptional technical skills, communication skills, strong business judgment, and demonstrated relevant experience with Data and AI products and/or Financial Operations Services.

This position requires a solid business and technical background, and the candidate should be customer-focused with a passion for delivering compelling user experiences. What you'll do:

  • Own a specific product area within the Cloud Optimization capabilities at Watson AiOps Portfolio (Turbonomic), including becoming a technical SME.

  • Work with customers and our field to identify necessary improvements to existing functionality, as well as define new functionality to maximize customer adoption and business value with the product.

  • Work with engineering teams to define clear, accomplishable requirements for new public cloud functionality.

  • Manage UI/UX design process assuring all functionality developed is easy to use and clearly articulates its value to customers.

  • Use a combination of customer data and market research to prioritize new functionality into an aggressive roadmap that balances new functionality, improvements and technical debt.

  • Ensure field teams have the content and context necessary to help customers leverage all functionality (new and existing) in your defined area.

  • Maintain a current understanding of industry and technology trends.

This role can be filled in Ottawa or Markham location.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3 or more years of Product Management experience owning enterprise IT solutions (infrastructure, monitoring, management, maintenance, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience driving product ownership and growth

  • Understanding of core cloud technologies and how enterprises use and adopt them- IaaS, PaaS, cloud storage, reservations, cloud databases

  • Understanding of how to manage cloud environments at scale

  • Experience in Product Management with a technical/engineering background

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 or more years of Product Management experience owning enterprise IT products (infrastructure, monitoring, management, maintenance, etc.)

  • Proven experience driving large product growth on a cloud focused platform or product

  • Keen understanding of enterprise best practices of cloud management- tagging, resourcing, provisioning, scaling, and optimizing

  • A deep understanding of the cloud industry trends and technology stacks (NoSQL, app service environments, serverless, containers)

  • Insight into how to delight enterprise IT users who are invested in the public cloud technology stack and are struggling with scale, manageability, complexity, cost, and performance issues.

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
