IBM Automation Developer in Ottawa, Ontario

Your Role and Responsibilities

Location for this role: Fredericton, Ottawa or Markham (preferred location is Ottawa)

We are looking for an Automation Developer to join our team for IBM Cloud Pak for Security and QRadar offerings. As an Automation Developer you will design, write, debug tests that automatically test functionality. You will identify and select test cases, create test plans, investigate problems in the software as a result of testing and contribute tests to the UAT (user acceptance testing) team. You will report status on a regular basis and ensure a high level of quality for all deliverables.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proficient in JavaScript (Min 1-2 years of work experience)

  • Have an interest in, understanding of, or experience with Agile development methodology

  • Familiar with RESTful APIs

  • Experience of working with Git

  • Experience using Windows and Linux operating systems

  • Self-driven, demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Good communication skills

  • English Fluent (verbal and written)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Some experience in manual and automated testing

  • Experience using shell scripts, Python, Java and working with command-line interfaces an asset

  • Passion for quality and desire to learn more about QA/ best practices

  • Knowledge of tools such as Jenkins, Gradle, Git, and Docker

  • Familiar with automation technologies such as Selenium, Cypress, Geb, or similar frameworks

  • Familiar with testing methodologies

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
