Your Role and Responsibilities

This position is an individual contributor role within the Provider Consulting Team. A consultant in this position can diagnose client’s business issues and determine the appropriate solutions that will address client issues for small to medium sized engagements and deliver a positive ROI on the consulting engagement. The ideal person for this role is an individual who has worked a minimum of 5 years in either an operations or clinical role in a provider organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small to medium sized consulting engagements and engage in billable consulting activity in practice area

  • Develop project budgets and schedules for small and medium size projects, manage internal staff, and review work products

  • Successfully manage project scope and client expectations, leading to strong client references and follow on engagements

  • Monitor client satisfaction, escalate issues, and take appropriate actions to address issues

  • Manage and participate in the design and development of deliverables and present results to the client

  • Extract, compile and validate data, conduct analysis using basic statistics and draft presentations of analytic findings

  • Develop table shells and technical specifications required to produce consistent accurate results

  • Customize analytic project templates and produce charts and graphs for internal and external use as part of an excel data book

  • Support Senior Consulting leaders in the delivery of medium to large consulting engagements

  • Support new client sales pursuits and opportunities and develop follow on potential at existing clients

  • Design and lead quality assurance activities

  • Support Senior Consulting leaders in identifying consulting growth opportunities and participate in the development of new service offerings

  • Grow expertise in healthcare practice focus, develop ability to serve as internal consultant to other IBM business units

  • Interact with client leadership and management and demonstrate understanding of client business needs

  • Mentor and train Consulting team members

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5-7 years progressive healthcare provider organization and/or consulting experience

  • Ability to work with leaders and managers in the client organization and make analytics driven recommendations on healthcare operations/clinical business needs

  • Strong data visualization skills and the ability to summarize and communicate information clearly and effectively

  • Ability to lead and facilitate client meetings

  • Experience in identifying how to utilize quantitative and qualitative research and analysis to help solve healthcare operations/clinical business issues

  • Industry knowledge of health care business, strategy and operations issues and trends

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present information, findings and recommendations
