IBM U.S. Security Services Leader - Northeast in New York, New York

Your Role and Responsibilities

A motivated Sales Leader focused on growing, developing, and managing our U.S. territory for Security Services. This role will be responsible for owning the security services business nationally. The role will be focused on driving business development, progressing pipeline, sales success, and executive sponsorship in strategic accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve signings, revenue, and profit targets for U.S. territory

  • Manage and mentor sales leaders in each territory to achieve growth and hit sales targets

  • Obtain accurate forecasting of signings and revenue from all sales leaders in your territory

  • Provide regular forecasts up to geography sales leadership regarding signings, revenue, profit, and other key indicators of the business

  • Develop executive relationships with key clients and assist sales teams with driving opportunities to closure

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships through active engagement and understanding their business

  • Provide oversight of sales pursuit teams and participate in client presentations, executive briefings, and client meetings

  • Conduct business development and engagement reviews on priority deals to progress pipeline, counter competitive tactics, and increase win odds

  • Participate with sales teams on client negotiations to close business

  • Assist sales leaders with hiring and maintaining top sales performers on their teams

  • Mentor sales leaders and sales reps to improve their client relationships, presentation skills, and ability to successfully manage their sales territories

  • Design and implement sales business development plans that lead to growth of the current customer base

  • Monitor and address sales performance of territory sales leaders and sales reps

  • Develop key relationships across the IBM ecosystem within Security and with other key organizations to drive opportunity identification and development

Preference to hire in Northeast city with flexibility to reside in reasonable commutable distance

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 10 years of experience in Security Services Sales with consulting and managed services

  • Up to 50% travel domestically

  • Successful previous experience as a sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

  • Strong business sense and industry expertise

  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to create and implement a sales plan

  • Meeting sales goals by monitoring progress

  • Able to analyze sales data

  • Experienced at presenting key messages to Fortune 500 Executives
