IBM Strategy Consultant in New York, New York

Your Role and Responsibilities

Promontory is seeking a Financial Crime Compliance Senior Principal with experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption to join its Financial Crime Practice Group. As a Senior Principal you will support Directors and Managing Directors in helping banks and other financial institutions address risk management challenges related to financial crimes compliance. Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Manage and deliver on engagements or engagement workstreams while demonstrating strong leadership, subject matter expertise, quality in delivery, and management of budgetary resources.

  • Assess, design, enhance, and help implement financial crimes compliance programs, including frameworks, policies, procedures, methodologies, and technologies.

  • Interact comfortably with and present findings and recommendations to Executive Management of clients.

  • Contribute to business development activities with new or existing clients, including development of new financial crimes compliance service offerings and solutions.

  • Review and analyze client written materials, such as policies, procedures, and governance artifacts.

  • Manage Promontory Principals, Associates, Analysts, and Consultants.

  • Analyze legal or regulatory requirements, including as developed through administrative or judicial proceedings.

  • Develop reports on U.S. and global financial crimes regulatory developments.

  • Contribute to Promontory thought leadership to build Financial Crimes Compliance Practice eminence.

  • Time spent traveling ranges from 10% to 75%, depending upon the project.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Professional with a minimum of 9 years of experience in financial crimes compliance within banking, financial services, consulting/law firm(s), or government regulatory agency.

  • Expert knowledge and awareness of other relevant anti-financial crime laws and regulations such as Sanctions, Terrorist Financing and Bribery and Corruption.

  • Expert knowledge of regulations and industry best practice related to Fraud and Digital Assets Typologies

  • Experience leading teams and managing and providing guidance/direction to junior resources on project activities and deliverables.

  • Experience leading and managing day-to-day aspects of engagement activities, including project and resource plans, budgeting and invoicing, execution methodologies, deliverables, and presentations.

  • Superior writing and editing skills with the ability to construct well-founded, clear, and concise analyses and recommendations.

  • Ability to handle complex information, solve problems, and manage multiple tasks.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and within all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and build teams.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong reputation for integrity and ethics

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Graduate degree (MBA, JD)

  • A relevant qualification in financial crime risk management (e.g., ACAMS).

  • Track record working in an unstructured environment where engagement leaders are expected to identify and develop innovative solutions to client challenges.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
