Your Role and Responsibilities

Job Description:

IBM Cloud is seeking an ServiceNow Solutions Architect for IBM’s Public cloud. This individual will be responsible for enabling technology and services on a new service management platform that provides Incident Management, Change Management, Support Case Management, and other services in the ITSM stack. Will recommend and leverage needed technologies, architectures, integrated solutions, tools, etc. in order to automate engineering and service delivery teams across the organization. The Solutions Architect will be a forward-thinking individual and will utilize emerging trends, engineering practices, and technologies with agility. This role will need to translate business goals and objectives to technical vision and strategy and act as lead for system administration team. Will be well versed with all modules of the platform and be able to act as a quality reviewer of all development work. Must align new development against business needs and ensure platform continuity. Must be able to capture robust technical capital and maintain a comprehensive design documentation of each evolution of the platform.

This role will be joining a collaborative, cross-organizational environment with a cooperative “whatever-it takes” approach by each person. The candidate will work with technical leaders and SMEs to drive stability and reliability concepts on IBM’s Public Cloud. This role requires prior demonstrated success in executing skills to create a strong and successful culture. The ideal candidate will have overall knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, and a full understanding of how the independent modules work together to create a seamless solution for both internal and external customers. Ideally, this candidate will have experience and knowledge of IT service management concepts and understand how software development activities should be integrated into a true service management platform across all engineering teams.


  • Track record of configuring, tailoring, and deploying services based on Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution such as ServiceNow.

  • Experienced in using needed tools and development toolkits to build services on an enterprise-class platform

  • Demonstrated technical and development skills - effective listener and communicator; ability to train, mentor, and coach individuals at various stages of development

  • Ability to understand business problems and provide guidance to the team on strategies which will produce winning solutions in the Public Cloud

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with all levels across the organization

  • Ability to thrive under ambiguous and dynamic conditions with flexibility

  • Apply an understanding of industry trends to deliver solutions

  • Ability to work in complex, matrix managed organizational environment

Work Location: Brookhaven/Atlanta, GA (Preferred) or Raleigh (RTP), NC


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2+ years of ServiceNow administration to include advanced skills, and broad module knowledge

  • Understanding of suite of modules provided by ServiceNow with a knowledge of how to integrate them together.

  • Working knowledge of developing in ServiceNow, Java Scripting, AngularJS, CMDB Architecture

  • Creating integrations with 3rd party and internal tools

  • Effective creator, implementer and driver of process improvement

  • Provide technical leadership, written documentation, and technical expertise while developing solutions

  • Lead requirements gathering and analysis

  • Ability to drive progress independently as well as problem-solve collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Use technical and business acumen to build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, and actively seek new projects/opportunities

  • Work as an integral part of IBM Cloud team

  • Support key executive relationships

  • Provide working demos of developed toolsets to key stakeholders

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Certified ServiceNow System Administrator

  • Advanced ServiceNow System Administrator

  • Certified ITIL Foundations
