Your Role and Responsibilities

Your Role and Responsibilities As a Principal you will work with multi-disciplinary teams helping banks and other financial institutions address risk management challenges related to compliance, risk management, corporate governance, accounting, or legal or regulatory issues.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ability to interact comfortably with Executive Management and Board Members of clients and regulatory authorities.

  • Ability to present findings and recommendations to clients and regulators.

  • Act as client's point of contact for engagement delivery.

  • Lead project work streams and manage Promontory staff and consultants.

  • Participate in business development and in strategic planning processes.

  • Analyze legal or regulatory requirements, including as developed through administrative or judicial proceedings.

  • Review and analyze client written materials, such as policies, procedures, and governance artifacts.

  • Develop reports on U.S. and global financial regulatory developments.

  • Travel as required to client sites in the United States and internationally. Time spent traveling is at least 30 percent.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Assess, design, enhance, and implement compliance risk management programs, including policies, procedures, methodologies, and technologies related to the following:

  • Compliance risk assessment;

  • Regulatory change management;

  • Monitoring;

  • Testing;

  • Issue management;

  • Complaints management;

  • Compliance risk appetite statements, measures, and metrics; and

  • Reporting.

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in consumer laws and regulations applicable to financial services organizations and products, including Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (“UDAAP”).

  • Proven leadership ability with a commitment to quality in execution and delivery.

  • Experience planning, managing, and executing day-to-day aspects of engagement activities, including project and resource plans, budgeting and invoicing, execution methodologies, deliverables, and presentations.

  • Superior analytical, writing, and editing skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.
