IBM Program Manager, Digital Ad Operations for Watson Advertising in NEW YORK, New York

The Weather Company's advertising sales division is now Watson Advertising, and represents the evolution of our sales organization since being acquired by IBM. We are an ecosystem of media, data, and AI technology solutions designed to help you save time, connect with customers, and drive ROI. We are seeking a Program Manager, Digital Ad Operations.

In this role, you will provide Ad Operations management support for diverse and defined programs requiring ad systems integrations as well as ad campaign, programmatic ad operations, and partner management. The PM will coordinate projects and initiatives, which require representation, input, quality assurance, testing, and resources from the Ad Operations Program Management group and Ad Operations department. The Program Manager is deeply involved with creating solutions for partners that adapt to internal and external business needs, in addition to spearheading seamless workflow to operationalize new revenue channels and effectively integrating new vendors and their technology.

Program Management & Risk Assurance Responsibilities:

  • Act as a lead service provider to internal and external stakeholders for programs that flow through Ad Operations systems and tools.

  • Provide assistance with coordinating projects within the Program Management group and Ad Operations department: creating comprehensive project plans, identifying owners, managing against deadlines, surfacing dependencies and risks, and communicating to key stakeholders effectively.

  • Proactively identify opportunities of operational efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in existing programs and potential programs where Ad Operations is a large contributor.

  • Become subject matter expert of processes, policies, systems, and controls —including the ad server, order management system, and all integrated systems and tools—in order to fully comprehend a program’s impact to the department and its downstream effects, as well as to address risk management issues across entire campaign management processes.

  • Contribute to the Program Management and Programmatic Ad Operations Teams with troubleshooting support on campaign delivery, creative implementation, performance, and ad server scheduling.

  • Provide any necessary reporting support for managed programs, which flow through Ad Operations systems and tools.

  • Be a liaison to several external teams by providing streamlined communication and provide a subject matter expertise point-of-contact destination for these teams.

Vendor and Partner Integration Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Vendor Management by owning the operational workflow for integrations and their testing, documenting, training, and communication. Assist with building relationships with these vendors by collaborating on road map innovation, prioritizing feature requests and bugs, and troubleshooting issue resolutions.

  • Assist with managing Ad Operations implementation and support for Business Development programs with strategic category partners, usually consisting of custom integrations and accessing cross-sections of targeted inventory on The Weather Company properties and its partners.

  • Help to strategize operational workflow models in order to optimize monetization of revenue channels from managed programs and increase efficiency for scale.

  • Identify when campaign management support is required for platform implementations and design support and workflow. When needed assist with support, and escalate if appropriate.

  • Responsible for campaign management and assurance, launches, upgrades/updates and ad hoc requests resulting from Reseller program partnerships or other future partner platforms.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 3 years within the Digital Advertising industry with an in-depth knowledge of ad operations, systems, integrations, and workflow (direct and programmatic).

• At least 2 years in project management experience.

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, project management skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and relationship building.

• High level of analytical and creative problem solving, questioning and feedback skills

• Must be customer service oriented and demonstrate commitment to quality.

• Ability to prioritize workflow and have experience interacting with all levels of management.

• Excellent skill level with PowerPoint and Excel, creating presentations and running reports.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

• Experience with project management and job tracking solutions such as Smartsheet and JIRA.
