Your Role and Responsibilities
The mission of the Brand Experience Design organization is to create a quality, differentiated, end-to-end experience for IBM Research. Within the organization, The IBM Research Content team is tasked with communicating the amazing work of our researchers and scientists in ways that are understandable, approachable, and compelling This particular position can be roughly broken down into two parts:• The first part involves actually learning about the work being done in IBM Research (by consuming existing content and materials, as well as interviewing actual Researchers to gain a deeper understanding of what they’re working on, and why), and the work being done by our competitors. As a result, you will form a compelling, differentiated point of view of what makes us competitive.
• The second part of the job involves taking that information and coming up with compelling ways of presenting it to our audiences through content experiences— that could be anything from engaging presentations, workshops, blogposts, campaigns, social media, videos, infographics, podcasts and beyond. You will need to be able to translate across audiences (business, general audience, technical) and across touchpoints of the end to end client journey (introduction, deep dive, try, etc).
You will need to be both a strategist, as well as a maker. We need a very strong strategic framework, as well as exquisite, creative, effective execution.
It is crucial that you have a collaborative mindset in this position. You will be working closely with the most senior leaders, business development, client engagement leads, as well as designers, developers, and makers, to bring the work of IBM Research to life.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
15+ years experience with sophisticated content creation, preferably for an established organization or publication
Proven ability to address different audiences
Experience leading strategy
Experience creating content for various media
Experience in client facing conversations, preferably in a consulting manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer and team-focused, high energy, and values honesty and integrity
Self-starter, passionate about creating compelling content for IBM Research with an emphasis on user experience
Experience managing teams and influencing beyond direct lines
Collaborative and able to align various points of view to a common cause
