Your Role and Responsibilities
In this consulting role the candidate will participate in the the design, implementation and steady-state management of category strategies for external IBM clients. Additionally, the candidate must understand external variables, learn the internal landscape of our clients (requirements, organizational structure, priorities) and successfully develop client / supplier relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design and implement category strategies utilizing various value levers that deliver improved cost, reduced risk and more efficient programs for IBM clients.
Successfully build relationships with client stakeholders by issuing prompt responses to client communication.
Demonstrate value by becoming a trusted advisor, lead negotiator and SME in the areas of sourcing and negotiation.
Recommend diverse, disadvantaged, veteran and small businesses where possible.
Collect market intelligence and analyze client data, metrics and reports to track performance against contractually agreed targets.
Analyze large data sets to identify category opportunities and insights.
Participate in category councils and client business reviews to support collaboration, knowledge sharing, opportunity identification and overall relationship development.
Innovate within the procurement space; look at new ways to structure programs or categories, benefit from changes in supply market, or modify tools/processes to add value.
Ensure seamless hand-off to our clients when appropriate.

Degree in Business, Law, Supply Chain Management or another applicable field is preferable.
A minimum of 5 years of strategic sourcing experience, with at least 3 years sourcing Contingent Workforce and/or Consulting Services.
