Your Role and Responsibilities
Call for Code is the largest and most ambitious effort bringing together developers and problem solvers to take on pressing societal issues using open source technology. The winning solutions are successfully developed, field-tested and deployed in communities that need them most. Since 2018 this movement has grown to over 400,000 participants across 179 countries who have answered the call.
Call for Code truly makes a difference in the lives of so many, and so can you. IBM is seeking a self-starting, innovative and enthusiastic Marketing Leader to help grow all facets of Call for Code as it enters its fifth year: the brand, the go-to-market, strategic partner engagement and ultimately solution adoption.
In this role, a candidate must be an excellent communicator, strategic marketer, and project manager focused on collaborating both internally and externally to foster awareness, participation, and integration across relevant channels. While there's no fixed playbook, a candidate must:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop the theme, timeline, launch and execution of the annual Call for Code Global Challenge
Create a strong, measurable year-round GTM internally and externally across earned, owned, and paid channels - both an always-on strategy + tentpole market moments
Work across a highly-matrixed Marketing organization to unite and focus various disciplines (content, creative, paid media, events, etc.) to develop and execute on plan
Maximize all available channels to create a clear, measurable end-to-end participant journey
Streamline creative assets to ensure a consistent brand voice
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategy to better educate and engage clients
Work with Partner Marketing Manager to develop and implement plan to maximize role of ecosystem partners throughout the Call for Code lifecycle
Partner across broader IBM Marketing organization to evangelize and elevate Call for Code
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
10+ years of marketing experience -- varied marketing skillset preferred (content/digital/paid media/social media/communications).
Excellent storyteller - written and verbally.
Strong ability to engage with executive leadership teams with excellent strategic planning and communication skills, both externally and internally.
Growth-mindset oriented, accountable, collaborative, and takes initiative. Ability to influence, execute, and work with highly matrixed team to accomplish goals while aligning to overall strategy and maintaining a POV.
Can maintain quality work while managing multiple projects across matrixed teams.
Can quickly grasp different technologies.
Strong research and analytical skills, along with ability to maintain transparency of ecosystem developments.
Self-starter, reliable team player with strong initiative and the ability to thrive in high-intensity, rapidly changing environment.
Knowledge of the developer audience helpful but not required.
