IBM Application Architect, .NET in New York, New York

Introduction

As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities

The .NET architect is key personnel that will be responsible for designing IHMS applications to meet business needs enabling the resulting design to run on expected platforms. You will define best practices in the critical evaluation and selection and/or development of the software components and hardware requirements of enterprise applications and data. You will also provide technical and architectural leadership for Microsoft .NET applications in major platforms (Web & mobile). Other responsibilities include:

  • Development of the application, including evaluation and selection of development methods, development processes, best practices, and tools

  • Lead technical design sessions with development teams and provide guidance and support to development teams during analysis, development and testing processes

  • Responsible for applications-related quality, performance, availability, scalability, and integrity along with being responsible for the functional interface to applications and for facilitating application usability.

  • Create an optimal, high-level, conceptual design for the project. Develops enterprise-level solutions that integrate across applications, systems, and platforms.

  • Create project and application architecture deliverables that are consistent with architecture principles, standards, methodologies, and best practices.

  • Plays an active role in defining the continuous integration/delivery process of the engagement by identifying the right tools/technology.

  • Leading different workstreams, including the development team

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree with a background in Computer Science, Software Engineering

  • 8+ years of Experience building enterprise applications

  • 5+ years as a Microsoft .NET Architect

  • Experience with the following technologies: Microsoft .NET core, Bootstrap, MVC, Angular JS, HTML5, CSS3, SQL Server, OOPS, Microservices, jQuery, TFS/ VSTS, Visual Studio Test Services, SSIS Integration Services

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science

  • Experience providing technical expertise in a consulting model
