Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Power/AIX Admin - , you will be placed at customer location and will have to demonstrate expertise in Power/AIX domain along with related H/W and S/w devices. You will be involved in troubleshooting and operational maintenance of Server and software. You are expected to work on Server Infrastructure/ OS AIX/Unix. Virtualization, solutions based on any vendor hardware /vendor operating system with little or minimum support from superiors. E.g. include: Skills on Server/ AIX Linux Operating System. Typical examples of the other deliverables would be of deploying, managing and implementing Power/ AIX solutions to address client business requirements. You will need to visit the domestic client's offices / data centres on a daily basis or on an as-needed basis as part of this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Should have relevant experience as System administrator, repair & maintenance with knowledge and expertise on the AIX

  • To ensure performance of the server infrastructure systems

  • Maintain service components for Unix/ AIX servers

  • Implementation of Incident, Problem, Change, Patch Management

  • Create, modify and delete login scripts, user groups, users, network shares and user properties

  • Assign and maintain user access rights,space usage restrictions as per policies defined and agreed upon with customer

  • Configure and maintain print servers and print queues

  • Maintain and administer DNS, DHCP, NFS, NIS, DFS roots, and group policy

  • Resolve server problems like system hang, hard disk crash, with OEM support wherever required

  • Create new file systems and correct file system inconsistencies as and when required.

  • Perform Day to Day House Keeping tasks by using tools & scripts

  • Administration knowledge of AIX/Unix/ solaris /Linx Hardware Console

  • Perform periodic system performance tuning as per Customer's policy

  • Capable of performing installation, implementation, operation, recovery, and performance tuning.

  • Unix basic Scripting,Perform Failover Testing.

  • Ready to work on 24/7 shifts to support client requirement.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in IT infrastructure projects, planning, implementation, and administration across multiple domains, as well as experience in end- to-end IT Operations.

  • Experience in support of AIX/Linux and Power servers. .

  • Monitoring the entire IT Infra of Servers, Storages, SAN Switches.

  • Good knowledge on virtual environment.

  • Configure, Manage and troubleshoot various Server Roles as described above.

  • Should be able to update/upgrade firmware's/drivers on any of this hardware and software. Should have good experience in implementation and troubleshooting of complex issues.

  • A general understanding of Networking technologies.

  • Ability to lead related to IT changes, IT setup and new process setup by coordination with multiple arms of IT team.

  • Demonstrate Problem Solving & analytical skills in IT Infrastructure domain both IT hardware & software / applications Experience in projects, planning, implementation, and administration in multiple domains

  • Documentation skills for generating process and procedure documents for preparing required reports and presentations.

  • Be Part of all Technical discussions and review the changes to be implemented. Preparing Root Cause Analysis.

  • Working with respective OEMs and derive the calls to resolution.

  • Reporting and analysis of day-to-day tasks.

  • Working with all regional DC/Dr teams and field support teams to drive the issues to closure.

  • Preparing SOP of all the Tasks, activities and break fix issues. Sharing knowledge base and other details on periodic basis with the team and other associates.
