Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM's Z sales team is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to support the sales of our IBM Z Systems Software portfolio of CICS, IMS, z/OS Connect, Zowe, and related tools to support these enviornments in the Canadian Market. This position is responsible for all pre-sales technical activities to identify, progress and win opportunities.
This position serves as a technical sales consultant to our clients and a technical sales leader for sales representatives. The applicant will learn the client's business and technical requirements, competitive landscape and apply their technical knowledge and experience to recommend new solutions. The applicant will also be delivering presentation, demonstrations, technical workshops, and proof of concepts with offerings on the z/OS platform.
The chosen applicant will be responsible for collaborating with the sales representatives to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions. They will also support technical design solutions and answer technical questions throughout the sales process in order to progress/close sales and develop customer relationships.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
3+ years' experience with technical sales of mainframe products
3+ years' experience with one of CICS, and IMS as application developer, systems programmer, technical support, or consultant
Experience with competitive tooling solutions from BMC, CA/Broadcom, etc, for CICS, IMS, and z/OS
Experience with modernization of mainframe application e.g. use of Java, API, Nodes.js, etc, to access legacy application
Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
