Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM is looking for a Software Services Sales Representative with experience selling high-tech software maintenance offerings and services. In this role, you will work to increase IBM's services market share and revenue.
You will be a key part of our Software Support Services field sales team and work within a defined territory.
You will be responsible for building new relationships and expanding business with existing customers, as well as all aspects of the sale, including pricing negotiations, contract development, and order fulfillment. As an IBM Sales Representative, you will be responsible for managing your opportunities via IBM's extensive sales tools, and understanding our remote technical support.
Primary job responsibilities
Sell software support services portfolio in your assigned territory or industry
Meet quantitative and qualitative performance goals and set high standards for articulation and presentation of key messages and the IBM's Open Source value propositioGTA locations - Toronto or Markham.
Meet assigned sales quotas by acquiring new customer accounts and renewing and growing existing relationships
Call on prospective customers, providing technical and administrative information, demonstrations, and price quotes for our offerings
Accurately forecast and close sales in alignment with company goals
Work with cross-functional groups within IBM including the broader Services team, Cloud, Security, Systems and Global Markets.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 5+ years of sales experience with a demonstrated record of success, preferably in the software or IT industry.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, computer science, or other technical discipline.
• Intimate knowledge of Open Source Technologies, with particular focus on emerging software stacks.
• Solutions sales experience in an environment with multiple offerings and services; experience with cloud, virtualization, middleware, DevOps, or emerging technologies is a must.
• Solid understanding of the complete sales cycle management from prospecting to closing.
• Ability to work with the complexities of partner organizational structures and be able to develop strategic relationships with alliance partners.
• Excellent communication skills with entrepreneurial mindset.
