IBM Python Test Automation Developer in Markham, Ontario

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Python Test Automation Devloper, you'll be part of a new team contributing to an Open Source Database platform that is central to our Log Management strategy for IBM Security. We are looking for an experienced and passionate candidate who can join our Data Lake development team and help build the next generation log management and data analytics platform that will excite our clients.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that IBM code contributions to the Open Source Database are of high quality and meet Secure coding standards.

  • Collaborate with other IBM teams across the globe that are also using this Open Source Database

  • Become an active member of the open source community by contributing to the overall Open Source Database test and verification strategy.

  • Ensure new builds from the Open Source Community meet IBM quality standards.

Can work out of either Markham, Ottawa or Fredericton software lab location

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • English Fluent (verbal and written)

  • 3+ years proven hands-on experience with Python

  • Experience of working in an Agile Development Environment

  • Experience with

  • Test Frameworks and Methodologies

  • Structured Query Language (SQL)

  • Building Docker Images

  • Running Docker containers and Docker Compose

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience testing C++ applications

  • Familiarity with cloud storage technologies and tiered storage patterns

  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or the Red Hat OpenShift Platform

  • DevOps Experience

  • CI/CD pipelines (Tekton)

  • Cloud (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, et cetera)

  • Relational, Graph, and Columnar DB design

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
