As a Strategy Consultant at IBM, you will help reinvent businesses and industries by developing and utilizing specialized knowledge of industry-specific and cross-industry competitive strategies. You'll manage complex components of an engagement, working closely with clients and their customers to understand their pain points. Your Role and Responsibilities
The scope of work will include:
Board and Senior Management-level Governance and Oversight of Operational Risk and Controls, including Operational Resilience.
Management of Operational, Third Party and Outsourcing, Cyber and IT Risks.
Development and Management of Operational Resilience Frameworks.
Regulatory compliance with FCA/PRA/Bank of England requirements and expectations on Operational Risk Management and Operational Resilience.
Adherence to Industry Standards on Operational Risk, including Basel, etc.
Within your role you will:
Support the definition, development and execution of a practice growth strategy predominantly targeted towards Financial Services clients, with a focus on retail banks, wholesale institutions and Financial Market Infrastructure firms.
Develop a clear and comprehensive understanding of UK, EU and international regulatory requirements and expectations on Operational Risk and Resilience and integrate these into the advisory offering and practice strategy.
Understand and monitor industry developments and clients' Risk, Resilience and Regulatory issues, and inform the practice strategy.
Interact with Board and Senior-level Executives of both existing and new clients, and regulatory authorities, in partnership with Promontory Managing Directors.
Build and lead key relationships and advisory revenues with clients and regulators.
Take ownership of developing new lines of business and of key workstreams in the practice business development strategy and be accountable for their timely and qualitative completion.
Manage practice junior team and coordinate business collaboration initiatives across the different practices in the UK office.
Successfully assimilate into the Promontory/IBM corporate culture and UK team.
Be accountable for the financial success of engagements, from business to delivery, and ensure value add to the Firm.
Build out the Operational Resilience offering together with international Promontory offices and wider IBM teams to drive growth and innovation.
Promontory UK seeks to hire an experienced manager with deep Operational Risk and Resilience experience. Both industry and consulting leadership experience is essential for this role, with preferably strong retail and/or wholesale banking product knowledge.
The candidate should possess the following:
Proven Operational Risk leadership track record as an SME dealing with a variety of complex Operational Risk, Resilience, Compliance, and regulatory matters, both in a BAU and change environment, with demonstrated experience in:
Operational Risk Management covering Operational Risk, Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery Planning, Incident Management, IT Risk, Cyber Risk and Third-Party/Outsourcing Risk, working in partnership with Business leaders and COOs, CCOs and CROs.
Risk Assessments against Risk Appetites, covering operational, regulatory, compliance, reputational and other risks.
Governance of Operational Risk Management frameworks, including designing and managing risk frameworks, and identifying and resolving risk and resilience issues with Board Executives and Senior Managers.
Understanding of risk and resilience considerations including: 3LoD structures, BIAs, RCSAs, SMCR, Conduct and Business Continuity.
End-to-end product processing across front, middle, and back office functions.
Regulatory Compliance with UK requirements and expectations on Operational Risk.
Engagement with UK Regulators.
Strong experience of leading day-to-day business development activities and client bids into profitable project delivery.
Excellent client interaction and relationship building skills with ability to work both middle and Executive-level management.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
A background as a senior / leadership professional with experience in the financial services industry, with experience in retail and/or wholesale banking with experience in the consulting field, with a focus on risk.
Technical experience in Operational Risk management for both BAU and Change functions, compliance, governance, legal and or/regulatory issues, and desirable competencies in finance, lending, trading, and/or other financial services skills.
Demonstrated experience in building and managing project teams and leading business development projects.
Track record of working in an unstructured environment where senior leaders are expected to proactively identify and develop innovative solutions.
