Your Role and Responsibilities
Right-sourced Cloud and Data Platforms, and Intelligent data-driven insights have evolved as two key capabilities that will underpin our clients' transformation, but this requires a transformation of IT delivery to succeed and that's where you will play.
Working as part of IBM's Cloud & Data Platform unit as a Brand Sales Specialist, you will promote IBM's Data & AI software portfolio, encompassing the Collect, Organise, Analyse and Infuse stages of the AI Ladder.
IBM's Data & AI software portfolio is a complete and composite product group, including products from our DB2 Database platforms, our Infosphere Portfolio, our Watson Studio AI portfolio - all built around our market leading Enterprise Insight Platform, Cloud Pak for Data, and supported by enterprise-ready analytics in Cognos and Planning Analytics; the list goes on...
You will support IBM by connecting with and educating both new logos and existing customers and working with them to define, develop, and deploy their next-generation Hybrid Cloud strategies. You'll be responsible for building strategic relationships with executives and key decision makers in our clients to promote our portfolio of Data and AI offerings.
The role is specifically working directly with clients who may have a more limited IBM software footprint, or none at all, hence the focus and reward is very much on new business acquisition - and you will need to be a hunter, more than a farmer.
To own and deliver a sales revenue territory
Prospect for new client engagement & opportunity development
Work with the wider sales team (for example Business Partners, Technical Specialists, Marketing) to plan the overall Data and Journey to AI strategy within a set of defined accounts
Manage all aspects of a sales cycle from opportunity identification, through to the negotiation and closure of contracts
Gain the trust of senior IT and business executives and foster long-term partnerships
Be proactive with our clients to ensure that the IBM Information Architecture and Data and AI capabilities become the first choice for our strategic customers
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience exceeding sales quota for software
Sales experience focused on Data Science / Information Architecture / Information Governance sales
Knowledge of UK Lifesciences / Public sector
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to present solutions in business terms to executives and senior executives
Ability to sell solutions in a multi-product environment, On-premise, SaaS & Services
Proven ability to work with global cross-functional teams and achieve success for customers
A background in consultative customer engagement
