IBM Junior Database Administrator in Katowice, Poland

Your Role and Responsibilities

Currently, we are looking for Junior Database Administrator.

Main tasks will include:

  • Participate in international project in a wide range of database technologies based

  • Together with Team provide support system troubleshooting and problem solving in Linux area, working on Db2 LUW (Ver 9.7-11.1)

  • Supporting DB2 upgrades, migrations and maintaining

  • Gaining experience in Backup/Restore activities

  • Possibility to be involved in work dedicated for other databases technology (MySQL, Postgres/MongoDB, Oracle)

  • Maintain the documentation and security processes within the dedicated scope

  • Learning cloud technologies running on Azure, AWS, Google Cloud

  • Working on technical documentation and processes (change management, incident management)

  • Supporting Agile methodology on daily basis

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge about OS (Linux, AIX, Windows) and SQL

  • Readiness to work in 24x7 multi-cultural environment

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or other related backed by experience

  • Knowledge/Experience in DBA area - DB2/ MySQl or strong willingness to quickly learn

  • Openness, good communications skills, ability to work in a team

  • Knowledge/experience in programming languages (Python, Bash, Perl, Ansible) considered as big plus

  • Ability to work in a team and to tight deadlines

  • Ability to manipulate statistical data, follow compliance processes and prepare required technical documentation

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of ITIL and Agile

  • Curiosity about Cloud topics

  • English skills (at least B1)

  • Openness, communications skills, very good organizational skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in work with Unix systems (AIX)

  • Experience in SQL / PL SQL developing skills

  • IT certificates related with database area or cloud

  • Knowledge of others foreign languages

  • Experience in work in multinational environments as a plus
