IBM CICS/MQ Mainframe Sys. Programmer/Administrator in Katowice, Poland

Your Role and Responsibilities

Currently we are looking for CICS/MQ Mainframe Sys. Programmer/Administrator to join our Mainframe Middleware Team. As a selected candidate you will be responsible for the CICS transaction servers and MQ Websphare on z/OS LPARs. Our team perform all functions related to supporting CICS and MQSeries including: administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, upgrades, performance and problem solving.

This job ad is for IBM CIC in Katowice, but work can be done remotely from any place in Poland.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide technical support for customer. Own and action requests for service,

  • Implementing changes and resolving assigned problems (may involve some after hours and weekend work).

  • Personal compliance and ownership on security, audit and systems integrity posture

  • To highlight areas for improvement in current processes, and implement improvements

  • To provide on-call support as required for products supported by the team

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with working with CICS like: installing, upgrading and maintaining (monitoring infrastructure, using tools like: OMEGAMON/Tivoli, System Automation feeds, etc/ Control and investigate CICS CPU usage)

  • Experience with Creating, maintaining and administration of CICS regions (used by the applications including Assembler and Cobol programs)

  • Experience with providing and analyze SMF statistics on usage to various parties (eg. developers, managers, Operational Security Department)

  • Experience with Investigating and resolving problems in CICS and related areas

  • To provide support to the application programming groups including handling inquiry and new resource, requests, coding design questions, assist in resolving issues and abends

  • Good written and verbal skills in English

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with Investigation and evaluation of new products in the area (eg. the CICS Explorer)

  • Knowledge of coding programs in REXX and COBOL

  • Experience with MQSeries and MQClients on distributed platforms

  • Experience with MQ, in the area of:

  • Control and investigate MQ CPU usage, queues usage, Space usage

  • Deliver and analyze SMF statistics

  • Define MQ objects (channels, queues, aliases, etc.)

  • Maintain and adapt according to application growth (eg. new page sets, etc.)

  • French language skills are not required, but is a plus
