Business Unit Introduction
India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is part of IBM Systems worldwide technology development lab. Established in 1996, the Lab is headquartered in Bengaluru, with a strong presence in Pune and Hyderabad. Developers at ISDL deliver technology innovations across the entire IBM Systems portfolio - z Systems, Power / OpenPOWER Systems and Storage. The team here works across the entire stack from processor design, firmware, operating system, systems software, performance engineering to software defined storage.
The Lab also focuses on innovations, thanks to the creative energies of the teams. It has contributed over 400+ patents in cutting edge technologies and inventions so far. While computing veers towards cognitive, cloud, mobile, social, and security, the lab has significantly contributed to not just new products focused in these areas, but has also ushered in new development models such as Agile, Design Thinking and DevOps.
Who You are:
As a Firmware Engineering Professional in the IBM Power Systems Management Console Development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing elegant and user centric GUI interface for system management software for IBM Power Systems. The system management software provides the end-2-end management capabilities including system configuration, system monitoring and serviceability as well as virtualization management capabilities.
What you’ll do:
You will work on design, development, test and support of the Management Console for IBM Power Servers.
Design and develop user centric Graphical User Interface for server and virtualization management
Define and implement high performance software by demonstrating a strong understanding of underlying system design
Improving the scalability and performance of our GUIs, including server processes that drive the GUIs
Be a contributor in developing an environment of continuous improvement across product lines and development groups
Interact with the test team to define test plans and test data; identify reproduce and defects; fix and verify defects.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
3 - 7 years of relevant experience.
Web UI Frameworks: Vaadin, Dojo, AJAX, JSP
System Management stack software design & development.
Experience developing rich HTML applications.
Proven debug and problem determination skills.
Knowledge in servers domain & team-based software development experience, self-starters, demonstrated communicators.
