Your Role and Responsibilities
App Connect has an opportunity in it's leadership team
Your role as a first line manager in the App Connect org will entail ownership of multiple functional squads and personnel management of between 15 and 20 software engineers. Providing ongoing critical feedback as part of leading a high performance culture within IBM.
As a squad manager you will work with the squad leads and product management team to help prioritise the workload and help track and ensure successful delivery of those prioritised items.
Additional responsibilities will be as Release Manager for the App Connect Enterprise certified container offering. This will entail working with the other offerings release managers to report into the CP4I release team on the status of our deliveries.
*Please note - This position requires working onsite 4 days per week at our Hursley location.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Communicate technical issues and solutions both to technical team members and to our executive team
Work independently and manage time effectively
Extensive demonstrated experience with performance review of software development teams
Project and release management experience
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Agile software engineering experience
Understanding of cloud native principles
Kubernetes and Node.js experience would be helpful but not essential
Knowledge of containerisation strategy and virtualisation technologies is desirable but not essential
