Introduction
The IBM Cloud CISO is responsible for securing the IBM Public Cloud Platform, setting up the long-term strategic security direction for IBM Cloud as the Platform for secure regulated workloads, ensuring that IBM Cloud meets customer and regulatory expectations. The successfully candidate will be a significant voice in the long-term strategic direction of our IBM Cloud security architecture, working closely with customers, partners, analyzing industry trends, etc. This position is for an exceptional Architect to increase adoption of IBM Cloud in the financial services and banking industry through both partner ecosystem growth and enhancements to the security and compliance posture of IBM's Cloud.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Architect in the IBM Cloud CISO organization, you will drive and set security architecture standards and guidance for IBM Public Cloud, and produce related key artifacts, including IBM Cloud architecture and security guidance patterns, diagrams, and technical documentation and architecture artifacts, including data boundary models, network flows, compliance controls and procedures, operator access patterns, and Cloud Platform-wide System Security Plans to be used in high-profile customer engagements and audits.
Responsibilities include:
Develop a technical strategy to grow the IBM Cloud security ecosystem of partners relevant to financial services
Research and development for the IBM Cloud Platform, with a primary emphasis on security technologies, and compliance and regulatory procedure automation
Work closely with the individual IBM Cloud service owners and architects to meet requirements and security practices that will accelerate growth and adoption from the financial services industry
Provide security technical & architectural leadership for next generation of product development and integration of security products and pre-built patterns for secure offerings built on Cloud native container architecture implemented as Kubernetes-based micro-services
Architect, design, and implement security and compliance standards and related services that provide necessary scalability, performance and cost-effective security of the public Cloud Platform
Actively participate in architectural decisions, design, and code reviews
Work closely with distributed teams both inside and outside IBM and across Engineering, QA, Product Management in all phases of product development
Work in a continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous compliance environment, while evaluating and improving these engineering processes
Assist Engineering/Development teams to perform POCs, evaluating different vendor products
Produce technical documentation and architectural artifacts related to IBM Public Cloud architecture, security, and compliance guidance for IBM Cloud services and software offerings
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Extensive experience in development, building large-scale distributed multi-tenant software systems, preferably in the Public Cloud space
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in Cloud and security architecture, principles, interfaces, and protocols
Proficient with Cloud Native technologies, including Containers, Docker, Kubernetes and Linux
Micro-services based modern software development knowledge and skills in a DevOps environment; understanding of DevOps environments, and operational and automation procedures
Background and experience in Cloud networking, including routing, switching, data center networking, overlay networking, security, and automation
Proven experience producing technical documentation and architectural artifacts
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in driving Cloud security, compliance, and architecture standards, principles, and related guidance to closure, and ensuring adoption of guidance
Experience collaborating effectively across remote teams and time zones, and collaborating with Senior Technical Leaders
Exceptional problem-solver, with ability to understand technical context and determine root cause, and move forward and close on problems at the root
Have a "roll up your sleeves to get things done" mentality
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Familiarity with financial services and banking regulatory frameworks and compliance standards
Knowledge of Python/Java/Golang
