The Industrial Market is currently seeking qualified applicants for an AI Apps Portfolio Seller for Segment 1. This position is responsible for developing new business for the Industrial Market in the US and will report to the AI Apps Market Leader.

The AI Apps Seller will have to work in a collaborative manner with the technical sales team, as well as with Channels, Offering Management and other sellers to develop and progress new business in the market. IBM AI Apps Segment 1 Sellers are consultants to IBM clients who deliver industry centric business solutions to few large clients in the industrial space. As a client-facing, sales professional, you will be guided by IBM's purpose - to be essential to its clients; help them grow their businesses by solving strategic and tactical business problems with IBM's proven AI Apps solutions. We are looking for bold, resilient and agile leaders, as well as game changers, trail blazers and challenge seekers, who are interested in making an impact in selling IBM's AI Apps portfolio to one of the most dynamic client bases and market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage business acumen to understand the client's business strategies, requirements, technical requirements and competitive landscape.

  • Lead and Collaborate with IBM's Software and Services teams to define, design, and detail the aspects and feasibility of proposed integrated solutions - from design, implementation, solution pricing, final execution and ultimate client success.

  • Work with the technical team and other organizations (ie. GBS, CTLs) to deliver effective Garages, Proof of Concept (POC), Proof of Technology (POT), Personalized Demos, support critical situations, to drive velocity through experimentation.

  • Actively engage with clients to develop the trust and credibility to help them grow their businesses by solving strategic and tactical business problems with IBM's AI Apps solutions.

  • Apply industry expertise, competitive knowledge, cross-functional leadership and creative vision to drive the AI Apps brand strategy and offerings, methods and models, to ensure world-class design and delivery.

  • Develop executive level relationships with customers, primarily with LOB as well as with IT.

  • Lead, co-create and drive account-based marketing initiatives, as well as create and lead sales prospecting strategies and tactics.

  • Hands-on collaborative leader, willing to help and work in identifying new ways of doing business.

  • Demonstrated level of business acumen as it applies to the client's business and working with your ecosystem to execute solutions.

  • Skilled in provocative consultative selling with an understanding of the client's needs, IBM's capabilities, and hybrid cloud strategy.

  • Demonstrated level of Industry knowledge regarding the Industrial Market (ie. Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Automotive).

  • Demonstrated level of knowledge of the AI Apps Portfolio

  • Demonstrated level of personal and cross unit leadership skills; able to scale across teams.

  • Commercially minded and capable of supporting running end-to-end sales engagements with the ability to think, plan, and act strategically.

  • Extensive networking and interpersonal skills in complex and highly diverse environments.

  • Results oriented professional, driving with a Positive Mindset

  • Self-starter with eagerness to seek and build new skills while adapting to the fluidity of the market and technology shifts.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 8 years of experience in IT Solutions Sales.

  • At least 5 years of experience in sales in the software industry, with specific market and/or industry domain experiences.

  • Understanding and knowledge of IBM's AI Apps Solution Portfolio

  • At least 5 years of experience working with partner ecosystem.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:

  • At least 5 years of experience selling AI Apps solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge of IBM's AI Apps Solution portfolio

  • Knowledge of Weather, Asset Management and Supply Chain solutions, including BTS.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience selling cloud and software solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge of IBM's Cloud and Cognitive Solution portfolio

This position is eligible for participation in an IBM sales incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change.
