Your Role and Responsibilities
Software development to deliver state-of-the-art enterprise software supporting IBM's growing Global Real Estate, Security and Research business units. Primary responsibilities include development of cloud-native web applications in the IBM Cloud environment leveraging OpenShift capabilities, and driving migrations to cloud applications from legacy systems. This will require knowledge of multiple programming languages/frameworks and applied experience with software development in public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. Candidates will manage all aspects of the development process, including design, program, testing, and documentation. They will work in a collaborative team environment following Agile practices.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
3+ years working in a software development position with responsibility for design, development, testing, and documentation
3+ years of application development using JAVA Core or J2EE. Other programming languages may also be considered.
3+ years of experience working with databases (DB2, Oracle, MySQL, or Postgres)
Exposure to Agile and DevOps development practices
Experience with Open Source Software and interaction with external development communities
Communication skills, and the ability to work directly with and influence stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Basic knowledge of the following technologies:
Cloud: CF (Cloud Foundry), Docker, Kubernetes.
Testing: TDD, BDD, JUnit, Mocha,Chai, Karma, Protractor, Cucumber, Selenium.
CI/CD: Travis, Jenkins, Circle CI
SVC: Git, Subversion, CVS, Perforce and/or TFS
Technical and professional experience with the following:
Open Source Software committer experience
Developer advocacy experience
Use of cloud technologies such as IBM Cloud, IBM Cloud Private, or Kubernetes
