IBM Application Developer in Columbus, Ohio

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop CI/CD workflows for deploying apps in dev, stage, prod environments (via AWS services or Jenkins)

  • To understand the business function that each application that Assess client's mainframe ecosystem

  • Re-architect applications into cloud based system using Service oriented Architecture, Micro Services and Server-less programs.

  • Create project plan for the modernization initiatives.

  • Lead the scrum teams to deliver releases as in plan.

  • Plan user training session.

  • Risk management and maintenance of post go-live issues.

  • Assist with engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content.

  • Design and implement platforms for monitoring, log processing, metrics collection, and data visualization.

  • Design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL & JCL to meet support and/or project requirements.

  • Understand and Automate solutions for a permanent fix to prevent outages/downtimes.

  • Installations of Various Tools like ElasticSearch, Clusters of No-SQL Databases, Apache, Tomcat etc.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of Mortage & Banking industry knowledge

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering mainframe technology transformation projects

  • Experience of architecting and developing cloud application solutions (strategy, design, application migration planning and implementation)

  • 2+ years of relevant technical experience.

  • Active AWS Certifications

  • Knowledge of core AWS services like Subnets, S3, EC2, storages services, RDS, lambdas, API gateway, CloudFront, CloudTrail etc.

  • Knowledge or experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design

  • Experience with Jira and Agile.

  • Current hands-on implementation experience.

  • Programming including coding, debugging, and using relevant programming languages

  • Experience leading customers with mainframe and legacy modernization initiatives.

  • Knowledge on Automation & Excel Macros

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge and experience applying on a broad basis principle, and concepts of Linux operating system and version control systems

  • Technical Project Management skills.
