Your Role and Responsibilities
The candidate is a technical professional who can:
Work with Business and IT to understand current and future goals
Assess strategies and roadmaps to ensure optimal application performance
Develop proof of concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions
Recommend a technology stack to achieve goals
Partner with other technical teams (middleware, database, infrastructure, etc.) to create interface documents and mappings to ensure that OMS is built in a service-oriented manner
Define reporting and analytics strategy based on in-depth knowledge of OMS data sets
Technical and Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of order capture & processing, inventory reservation and systemic replenishment, fulfillment and delivery expectation, payment settlement & refunds, returns & exchanges
Good understanding of globally distributed Direct to Consumer ecosystems
In-depth knowledge of enabling technologies and concepts such as front-end web technologies, interactive experience, digital strategy, eCommerce systems, content management systems, middleware technologies, and data management
Strong understanding of Sterling OMS Architecture (database modelling, integration and agent architecture, protocols, etc)
Working knowledge of Linux Red Hat, Docker, and Kubernetes
Knowledge of complementary products such as Kafka, MQ Series and JMS queues
Strong knowledge of various integration patterns: web services, REST API, other synchronous / asynchronous integration mechanisms, building scalable web APIs, and API management
Unix and Windows operating systems
Java Programming, UNIX Shell, XML, XSD, XSLT, SQL
Relational database experience (Oracle, DB2 or SQL)
Preference to hire in one of the following cities with flexibility to reside in reasonable commutable distance: Chicago IL, Detroit MI, Milwaukee WI, Minneapolis MN, St. Louis MO.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience across all phases of software development lifecycle; requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and application maintenance
Experience with leading blueprint and assessments
Experience integrating with external systems via middleware and APIs
Experience with custom development and extending Sterling OMS to meet business requirements
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in containerized implementation of Sterling OMS in cloud environment
Experience with application cloud migrations is a plus
